What am I doing in the sports forum?   Shocked  Smiley

I was surfing and found this name, Raghib Ismail.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raghib_Ismail

What struck me is that he is a retired football player, and he has converted from Sunni Islam to Christianity.  Since then, he has invested in inspirational (?Christian-theme) movies and has started the record label COZ, which produced inspirational hip hop music.

The sad thing: he is now bankrupt. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Why-do-so-many-NFL-players-go-bankrupt-?urn=nfl,190555

Has God cursed him, or is Ismail being tested in his newfound Christian faith?

Only God knows, but I feel bad that a man who has (hopefully) found Christ, is not yet being rewarded for his efforts to live for Him.  But I know nothing at all about his life so far, and my only prayer is that everything will be for good in his life with Christ.

I think he made a series of risky business decisions.  Movies?  Music?  Very risky.  Not a criticism of him but of the arena that he ventured into.

becoming a christian doesn't automatically give one financial wisdom.  he's cursed only insofar as he's living in the world God created, where decisions have consequences, both good and bad.

I just hope some charismatic 'preacher' didn't get rich from Ismail's bad choices with his money.

He invested in a calligraphy.  He might not be cursed, but he's definitely cursive.
