Terrapin
Gotta love Athens. Since you're in Atlanta, have you checked out Five Seasons yet? They have some experimental brews from Terrapin you can try. http://www.5seasonsbrewing.com/index.html
I've yet to go. The three I go to mostly are Summit Tavern in Lilburn, Th Brewhouse Cafe at five points, and Manuels Tavern. I'll have to check it out one weekend. I always hate the fact that Sweetwater gets way more publicity than Terrapin. Have you ever been to Trapeze in Athens? Supposedly its owned by one of the elders at Redeemer Prebyterian and features a catalog of amazing brews thats surprisingly affordable.

I was in ATL this past weekend and visited Taco Mac...I was really impressed with their beer selection.  I know it's a chain, but it's not one we have in Columbia, SC.  They had most of my favorites and a bunch I had never tried.

By far my favorite brewery has to Red Oak in Greensboro, NC.  Their Red Oak Amber Lager and Battlefield Bock are both amazing, and their Hummingbird light lager is pretty good too.  The only downfall though is that they don't bottle any of their beers yet, there only by the keg, and since I love beer, but not quite enough to get a kegerator that means I only get at the local bar.

1. Empyrean Brewing
2. Boulder Beer Co.
3. Lucky Bucket Brewing
4. New Belgium
5. Avery Brewing

Living in Nebraska, we have a handful of good microbreweries here (probably 10-15) but the Colorado Front Range brewing scene has a huge share here, even in the far eastern part of Nebraska, 500 miles from the Rockies.

Texans, if you haven't done so yet, you need to get your hands on the selection of beers by Real Ale Co. based out of Blanco, Texas.

So far I've tried their brewhouse brown ale, their Full Moon pale ale, and I'm having their seasonal Devil's Backbone Belgian style tripel.  All of them have been delicious.

The brewery takes it name from the manner in which they produce the carbonation:  http://realalebrewing.com/beers/cask

The cost for the year round ales are about the same as a St. Arnold's or a New Belgium; about $7.50 for six, and the seasonal ale I just got was $9.50 for six.
